Meet the Founder and Managing Director of SANO Handtrucks LLC

Back in 1989, in a garage in Austria, Jochum Bierma had a simple yet brilliant idea – to create a solution for carrying heavy items up and down stairs. That’s how SANO GmbH was born.

After thirty-five years and three other locations, Jeroen van der Ploeg was given the opportunity to open SANO US. Although he was devoted to the farm life (where he had been dairying in New Mexico for 20 years) Jeroen felt it was time to carve out his own path. He made the bold decision to step away from the family business and embrace an exciting new challenge: launching a SANO GmbH subsidiary in the US.
